"NEPHILIM" - The Giants of Old

and The "NEPHILIM"

Nephilim -
According to the Bible, before the Great Flood of
Noah's Day - Evil Angels had forsaken their position
in heaven in order to materialize human bodies for
themselves - so that they could have sexual relations
with human women. The resulting offspring from these
unnatural relations - produced a hybrid group of
Giants (Nephilim) that caused great violence upon
the earth of that time.

It is right after the Bible mentions the
sexual union of spirit creatures with human
women - that the scriptures reveal a
great amount of violence and wickedness
upon the earth - that leads God to destroy
the majority of mankind at that time.

"The Nephilim were on the earth in those days.

Who were the "Nephilim" ?

According to Bible verses - the fallen angels
who followed in Satan's rebellion - materialized
human bodies and had sexual relations with human
women - thus producing the hybrid "nephilim".

Yes, some of the Angels of God - forsook their proper dwelling
and came down and materialized human bodies for themselves
in order to have sexual intercourse with women. The offspring
of these "unnatural" unions were very large mutated humans -
"Giants" that were called "Nephilim".

"This was back in the days when there were giants
in the land. The giants came from the union of the
sons of God (angels) and the daughters of men..."

The Flood of Noah's Day came shortly after
the appearance of these Giant Nephilim -
due to the violence on the earth at that time.
And it was in the Euphrates Valley where Noah
preached of a coming global destruction.

This identifies the area where bones of Giants
have been uncovered.

"The Tigris/Euphrates valley which is the
Mesopotamian valley, the heart of the Middle East.

The Hebrew word for 'sons of God' is 'Bene elohim'.
This term for angels occurs four times in the Old
Testament in the Septuagint version - which is
(the Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures).
It's meaning is always used as angels of God, and
NEVER of man.

The term Son of God is never used of man
in the Old Testament, only of angels. (Job.1:6,2:1, 38:7)

Most scholars believe this event described in
Genesis chapter 6 was a union between fallen angels
who cohabitated with human females. This unnatural
occurrence of combining two different species resulted
in an offspring of what is called 'giants' in the
King James and N K J version and called 'Nephilim'
in the New American Standard, and the English
translation of the Jewish Masoretic text.

We find in the scriptures that angels have the ability
to appear as men even though they are spirit creatures.
They are able to perform numerous human functions
such as eating food as in their encounter with Abraham
in Genesis 18. They are able to perform other bodily
functions as well, they can walk and talk among us in
such a way that we may not be aware of them unless they
reveal themselves, Heb. 13:2 “do not forget to entertain
strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly
entertained angels.”

The angels that came to warn Lot were mistaken for men
and were sought out for homosexual use by the men of
Sodom. There seems to be some change of substance
that angels are able to perform while on Earth so that
they can become physical, contrary to their original
nature. So if they are able to materialize the body
of a man and can eat and carry out other bodily
functions then why not other abilities such as
intercourse.

In Unger's Bible dictionary referring to the word
for giants (Nephillim ) he writes;
“the Nephillim are considered by many as...the
unnatural offspring of the daughters of mortal men
in cohabitation with” the sons of god” (angels).
This utterly unnatural union, violating God's created
order of being, was such a shocking abnormality as to
necessitate the worldwide judgment of the flood.”

Jude goes on to draw a comparison with the sin
of Sodom and the sin of the angels, Both departed
from their own nature to go after unnatural desires.
The author Jude writes of these angels who sinned
and then parallels their sin with the sexual immorality
of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Evidently, these "mutant" giants were very violent and
were creating an atmosphere of terror upon the earth
at that time. It was not long before Jehovah God
decided to bring an end to it.

Immediately after describing the unnatural sex acts
between angels and humans - God decides to destroy
mankind by means of the flood.

"In those days were the giants (nephilim) on the earth,
...when the sons of God (angels) had come in to the
daughters of men, and they had borne [children] to them;
...And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of Man
was great on the earth, and every imagination of
the thoughts of his heart only evil continually.
And Jehovah repented that he had made Man on the earth,
and it grieved him in his heart. And Jehovah said,
I will destroy Man, whom I have created, from the earth
-- from man to cattle, to creeping things, and to fowl
of the heavens; for I repent that I have made them.
But Noah found favour in the eyes of Jehovah."

What Significance for Us ?

Once again, we live in an earth that is filled with acts
of violence. Once again, we live in fear and terror
throughout the land.

If Jehovah came to a point where he would no longer
tolerate the evil men upon the earth - we know that once
again - His tolerance will be stretched to its limit

We live in times similar to those of Noah.
We regularly hear about horrifying acts of terrorism,
campaigns of genocide, mass killings by gunmen with
little apparent motive, and domestic violence on a shocking scale.
The earth has again become filled with violence,
and as before, the world has been put on notice
of a judgment to come.

A Whole World Destroyed !

Just as an ancient World was Destroyed
in the days of Noah - Again - God has promised
to destroy an entire World of Mankind -
when His son returns to the earth.

"When the Son of Man returns,
it will be like it was in Noah's day..."

Look at the world around you, with its cities, its culture,
its scientific achievements, its population of billions.
It is easy to be impressed by its apparent permanence, is it not?
Do you think that some day this world could completely disappear?
That may be difficult to envision. However, did you know
that according to a very good source, a world existed before
this one and it was completely destroyed?

"The Arrival of the Son of Man
will take place in times like Noah's.
Before the great flood
everyone was carrying on as usual,
having a good time
right up to the day Noah boarded the ark.
They knew nothing-
-until the flood hit and swept everything away.

WE ARE not talking of an ancient world of primitive tribes.
The world that perished was civilized, with cities,
artistic achievements, and scientific knowledge.
Yet, the Bible record tells us that suddenly,
on the 17th day of the 2nd month, 352 years before
the patriarch Abraham was born, a deluge began
that swept away an entire world.*

Why Did That
Ancient World Perish?

THE global Deluge was not a natural disaster.
It was a judgment from God. Warning was given,
but it was largely ignored. Why?

Jesus explained :

"In those days before the flood,
people were eating and drinking,
men marrying and women being given in marriage,
until the day that Noah entered into the ark;
and they took no note until the flood came
and swept them all away."
-Matthew 24:38, 39.

WHY DID GOD DESTROY THEM ?

"The badness of man was abundant in the earth
and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart
was only bad all the time.....The earth became
filled with violence."
-Genesis 6:5, 11.

Isn't this situation similar today ?
